Welcome !

Troop 413 Scouting Family started on January 31, 2006 by a group of ten people with a vision of creating and equipping the next generation of Godly leaders for our community. It started with 6 boys and today, Troop 413 has roughly 50+ registered active members. Our Scouting Family is also made up of our younger brothers in Pack 413. With Troop 413 and Pack 413 your boys will have a place to experience scouts at any school age all in one place! We have a link on our website for Pack 413. This boy-led troop empowers boys to be leaders by allowing them to develop a troop program and then take responsibility for figuring out how to achieve their goals. They accomplish this by electing a senior patrol leader and then organizing into groups of patrols under the guidance of the scoutmaster and his team. The troop schedules one or two events or outings each month consisting of campouts, community service projects, and activities such as swimming, wall ball, plus much more. Our troop is also very active in BSA order of the Arrow. The troop meets almost every Tuesday from 7:00 PM to 8:30 at New Heights Church and holds at least 3 Courts of Honors during the year. You’re always welcome to visit with us any time!
God Bless, Scouter Jerry

Once again, we are challenged with winter weather! We are not certain on the timing of the formation of ice, so with that in mind, we will not have a meeting this Tuesday. Scouts should review their emergency plans from your EP merit badge with their family. They should check on drinking water, food, any medication that is low should be filled. Remember, if you have elderly neighbors, see if they are prepared. This is also a great opportunity to start the emergency preparedness merit badge! See you next week.

The results are in for Scouting for Food...

Thank you to all the people who made donations toward our food drive this year. New Heights Church and Troop 413's final count was, 823 pounds of food and $1600 in cash! Once again THANK YOU!!! The scouts selected the Pomaria Community Food Bank because of the support and care they provide to their rural community. Members of our scouting family discovered this small pantry during an outing on the Peak to Prosperity section of the Palmetto trail. The pantry shares the same parking lot as the trail! The food bank is located at 110 Victoria Street. This food bank started out of the trunk of a car by founder Shelvy Ham, and with community help and a lot of prayers, it has evolved into the wonderful facility. She and her husband are truly showing Christ’s love! They are now attending New Heights Church where our troop meets. Food, clothing or monetary donations are always welcomed!

As you are no doubt aware, the threat of severe winter weather appears to be a reasonable certainty for the Midlands of SC, beginning sometime tomorrow and extending into Wednesday.
